TEL-ME-MOR attended the 71st IFLA General Conference

TEL-ME-MOR participated in the 71st edition of IFLA , the World Library and Information Congress, which this year, was held on 14-18 August in Oslo, Norway, with the title Libraries – A Voyage of Discovery .

In addition to the poster session presented by Barbara Morganti and Monika Segbert on 16-17, TEL-ME-MOR was presented by project partners in a number of key conference sessions. In particular, the project was introduced by Monika Segbert (Eremo srl), at the CDNL Annual Meeting on 17 August, a speech was given by Genevieve Clavel-Merrin (National Library of Switzerland), at the ABDOS Session and Andris Vilks (National Library of Latvia) illustrated the project during the National Library Standing Committee Session. TEL-ME-MOR was also mentioned by Kai Eckholm (National Library of Finland) in the National Library Open Session. The event provided a unique opportunity for introducing the project to participants from all over the world, including many New Member States, for establishing useful contacts and for networking.

TEL-ME-MOR at the 71st IFLA General Conference

TEL-ME-MOR partners and project managers will participate in one of the most important events in the world of librarianship and information sciences, IFLA General Conference and Forum . This year the conference will be held from 14th till 18th August in Oslo (Norway) under the title Libraries – A Voyage of Discovery .

TEL-ME-MOR will have a poster session at the conference. Poster sessions will be held on 16th and 17th August; project managers Monika Segbert and Barbara Morganti will be present to introduce the project. In case you cannot make it to the poster sessions, project managers can be also found at eIFL.net stand (no. 406) in the exhibition area.

New report on the national libraries of NMS

In the end of July several new deliverables were presented to the European Commission by TEL-ME-MOR project team. In the first workpackage an updated and revised version of the Analysis of Research Activities and Needs of National Libraries of the New EU Member States was produced and published by the National Library of the Czech Republic. This document contains also a summary on TEL-ME-MOR national workshops held in all NMS in June 2005. In the fourth workpackage reports on completing the network of TEL-ME-MOR national websites were released by the National Library of Estonia.
